The Outpost office in The Hague is one of over 60 Outposts around the world. The organisation has been established by Shell to offer support, complementary to Shell terms and conditions, to employees, their partners and families with the challenges of global mobility. The Outpost office offers a friendly environment where you can come for information and advice on relocation and for the partner wishing to develop their career in preparation for a new posting or repatriation overseas.

The Outpost office in The Hague is located on the ground floor of Shell Headquarters at Carel van Bylandtlaan 16 in The Hague. The office is situated next to the gift shop and open from Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 16:00. There is also an Outpost office in Rijswijk, next to the bank, which is open on Friday, from 9:30 to 16:00. A team of 8 consultants will provide you with information on living in The Netherlands, moving overseas and career and study advice.

Moving Overseas
If you are considering an overseas posting and looking for information Outpost The Hague can help you. We have an excellent library of books and DVDs on Shell locations around the world. We can either send information out to you or you can arrange to come into the office and view the materials we have on offer.

The HaGuest Card
This card has now been launched specifically for the expat community, but is also available to Dutch international staff temporarily living in the Hague. Member organizations including shops, restaurants and service providers are required to offer top service particularly to expats (e.g. good service and English speaking). Shell is supporting the idea and will be involved in the selection panel for entry into the scheme. Shell families are now welcome to register for the HaGuest Card which it is hoped will allow expatriates to adjust more smoothly into The Hague. Please check the website www.thehaguestcard.com

All members of your family will get their personal card with which you can shop, do sports, phone, get financial advice, get discounts on theatres and museums and to be invited to special events. With this membership you can also get special care from companies like KPN Telecom, Deloitte and Fortis Bank. They are opening special phone numbers where you can speak English and where they are ready to help you to a new cell phone, instant internet, digital tv, tax advice and a bank account number (without a social security number!).
