Information Morning

If you are a newly arrived Shell partner (or even an old one looking for up to date information!) you are invited to our Outpost Information Morning at Shell Headquarters in Carel van Bylandtlaan (children are welcome). You do not need to register, just turn up at reception and ask for Outpost. This informal morning will allow you to browse through literature on clubs, societies and activities that you may wish to get involved in. The morning also provides an opportunity to mix with other Shell partners and newcomers over a cup of coffee and to meet the Outpost staff who will be happy to answer your questions. "First steps towards building a great CV" clinic

If you are looking to prepare yourself for work here in The Netherlands you might like to attend our short clinics, which are free of charge to Shell partners. These clinics provide a quick brush up on your CV and interview skills. Both clinics will be held in the Shell offices in The Hague. Please register your interest by emailing outpostcareers@shell.com

This clinic offers very brief and practical information on how to write a strong reverse chronological CV, according to the Dutch 'layout', for those who are actively looking for jobs. The Interview 'clinic' for those who are interested in learning more about the interview skills and techniques will be held at Shell Central Office. Outpost Welcome Desk in Rijswijk

Outpost The Hague would like to welcome all newly arrived Shell expatriates working in Rijswijk to our Welcome Desk in the Mainstreet of the EpiCentre next to the coffee corner 11:30 - 13:30. Outpost Social Get Together at 't Hof van Eten

Lunch and Learn

Essentials for living in Den Haag
This is part of the Lunch and Learn Series. We will spend the morning covering the essentials that every newcomer needs to know, and equip you with plenty of practical advice and tips. Some topics to be explored are getting settled and daily life, cultural shock, personal development, getting out and about, transportation and learning Dutch. Just to name a few. It will be an overview of what type of information there is available, and more importantly where you can find help when you need it at any stage of your life in The Netherlands. Lunch is provided. Due to the hands on nature of this event, space is very limited so RSVP early to outpost@shell.com.

Short Courses event

Outpost is organizing a networking event on short courses, workshops and study opportunities available to Shell Employees and their partners in the The Hague area. It will be a great event with a wide range of activities on offer from writing to computer courses to photography to cooking classes to interior design to kite sailing and dancing. Some of the universities will also be present with some very interesting courses you can take.

The event will be held in the restaurant on the ground floor of Shell Headquarters, Carel van Bylandtlaan 16
Drinks and finger food will be served.
