Playgroups and daycares

Toddler groups / Playgroups are often connected to primary schools. There are several English language playgroups serving the International community:

The Hague Area

The Daisy Chain Playgroup
Is held in the Anglican Church Hall, Riouwstraat 2C, The Hague. Many children attend two, three or four sessions a week, each session lasting 2.5 hours. (age 2.5 -potty trained to 4 years old).

Parents and Toddler Group at the Anglican Church Hall,
Riouwstraat 2c, The Hague, on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings between 9.30 - 11.30.hrs English speaking but welcomes all nationalities. To contribute to running costs a charge of €4 per family is made each session. Contact :

Bumps and Babies Group
Is held at the Anglican Church Lounge, Riouwstraat 2C, The Hague. Every Friday morning from 10.30-12.30 hrs.

Baby Music Group
Is held at the Anglican Church lounge, Riouwstraat 2C, The Hague.
Every Wednesday morning from 10.45-11.45 hrs (age 4 weeks-18 months).

The Windmill Playgroup
Caters to English speaking children. Classes are from 9:00 to 11:30 Monday to Friday. Therasiastraat 310, The Hague for children aged 2.5 to 5 years old; and the afternoon site is co-located with the 'Peuterhoek PINO' adjacent to the Basisschool Essesteijn from 1pm to 3:30pm Monday to Friday. Elzendreef 6, Voorburg for children aged 2 to 5 years old.

Children are required to attend a minimum of two sessions per week.

Red Fish Blue Fish English

Rijswijk Area

English Speaking Playgroup
Based in Rijswijk, Laboucherelaan 1, (close to the Rijswijk Shell offices). They operate from 9:15 – 12:15 hrs on Mondays and Wednesdays, and on Thursdays from 12:00 –14:30hrs. For children between 2- 4+ years old. Contact Alison Zegers on 070 390 3995 or 070-394 7955 (during opening hours).

Voorburg Area

Parent and Toddler group Voorburg,
Meet Wednesday mornings, 09.30 -11.15hrs, in the KoningKerk, Bruijnings Ingenhoeslaan/Koningin Julianalaan, Voorburg. The entrance is in Staringkade. Tram 2 +bus 23 Bruijnings Ingenhoeslaan stop. There is a charge to cover costs.

Wassenaar Area

The Clown Club
Is an International and Pre-school Daycare Centre open from 07:45 - 18:00 hrs. They offer qualified, professional staff and have specialist teachers in music, art, kindercise (exercise), drama and dance. Mother and Toddler Group:

Tasid - The Activity Shop International Daycare:
Hallekenstraat 28 A, 2242 VB Wassenaar. British oriented pre-school for children from 4 months to 12 years old. This program offers after-school care and activities for elementary school age students. For more information contact Mariska Hoogenveen. Website: www.tasid.nl

Voorschoten Area

Parent and Toddler Group:

English Speaking Playgroup:

Children with Special Needs
The Hague Support Group is a group of parents of children with various special needs, medical, behavioural, educational, who meet regularly for coffee to offer mutual support, exchange information and pool resources. Anyone with an interest in the group, both personally and professionally, is welcomed.
